What are PureGnaw chews made of?

PureGnaw is a Himalayan-style hard cheese chew made with simple ingredients, using a centuries-old cheesemaking process from the Himalayan region of Nepal. It contains no rawhide. The full ingredient list is printed on every pack.

How should I use PureGnaw chews safely?

PureGnaw chews are firm and long-lasting, and they are meant for supervised chewing. Always stay with your dog during a chew session, choose the size that matches their weight, and take the chew away once it is small enough to swallow whole. Keep fresh water available. How long does a PureGnaw chew last?

Duration depends on the size of the chew and your dog's chewing style. Generally: Small lasts 2–6 hours, Medium lasts 4–10 hours, and Large lasts 8–20 hours. Power chewers will work through them faster; gentler chewers will make them last longer.

Do they have a strong smell?

PureGnaw chews have a mild, natural smell — notably less intense than rawhide or bully sticks. Most owners find them easy to store and use indoors.

Can puppies have PureGnaw chews?

Firm chews are best introduced once a dog's adult teeth have come in, and the right timing varies from dog to dog. Please check with your veterinarian before giving any hard chew to a puppy, and supervise closely the first few times.

What flavors are available?

PureGnaw comes in four flavors: Original, Strawberry, Pumpkin, and Blueberry. The flavored varieties are flavor-inspired versions of the same Himalayan-style chew. If you are not sure where to start, the Variety Pack includes all four.

Why does the color and size vary between chews?

Every PureGnaw chew is handcrafted rather than machine-molded, so color, size, and hardness vary slightly from piece to piece and from batch to batch. That variation is normal and part of how these chews are made.

How do I choose the right size?

What if my dog is between sizes?

Always go up a size when in doubt. A slightly larger chew is always safer than one that's too small. If your dog is a particularly aggressive chewer, you may also want to size up regardless of weight.

Can large dogs have the small chew?

No. Always match the chew to your dog's size. A chew that's too small for a large dog becomes a choking hazard once it's been worked down. Stick to the size recommended for your dog's weight.

When should I take the chew away?

Remove and discard the chew once it becomes small enough for your dog to swallow whole. This is the single most important step with any firm chew. If you cannot see it between their paws while they work on it, it is time to swap it out.

What should I do if my dog swallows a large piece?

If your dog swallows a large piece, monitor them closely for signs of distress, choking, or digestive upset. If you notice any unusual symptoms, contact your vet immediately. This is why we always recommend supervising chew sessions.

Can I give PureGnaw chews to multiple dogs at once?

We recommend giving each dog their own chew in separate areas. Resource-guarding is common with high-value chews and can lead to conflict between dogs, even ones that normally get along.

My dog has a sensitive stomach or dietary sensitivities. What should I do?

Every dog is different. If your dog has known dietary sensitivities, please check with your veterinarian before introducing PureGnaw, and introduce any new chew gradually while you watch how they respond.

How long does shipping take?

We process orders within 1–2 business days, and most go out the same day. Standard shipping then takes 2–6 business days depending on how far you are from our Georgia warehouse, so most customers receive their order within 3–7 business days of ordering. When will I get tracking?

You'll receive an email with a tracking link as soon as your order ships, along with an estimated delivery date for your address. That estimate is more precise than any range we can publish, so it's the best guide to when your chews will land.
